  • Accounting I TextIn this class, students learn accounting concepts as they relate to real-world businesses.  Students have short accessible lessons organized for ease in learning.  Included is a website that offers a variety of activities such as e-lectures, game-like reviews of every lesson, web links, graphing, workplace readiness materials, and student portfolio activities.

    This course may be taken during its regularly scheduled class period or independent study. 

  • Accounting II is designed to allow students the freedom to explore careers in business, to learn different ways to run a business, and to learn to analyze company financial statements to make good decisions about the company’s future growth.  Simulations, Excel, and Automated Accounting software are used to help students learn. 

    The course content is coordinated with the Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) Accounting course requirements so students are eligible to receive advanced standing credit at CVTC.  Accounting II is an FBLA competitive event as well!

  • Business Finance presents finance from a business point of view.  This course covers finance fundamentals, long-and short-term funding sources, business risk management, use of technology, and international finance.  Concepts are presented with a strong lesson-based instructional design, weaving in interesting real-world features, financial calculations, and case studies.

  • Business Management TextbookThis course provides an introduction to business management concepts and principles in a realistic, investigative, and enriching manner.  Business operations are approached from the entrepreneurial and management perspective.  All the functions of business management are covered extensively, including the use of technology and communication as tools of business.

  • Internationa Business TextbookLearn the basic foundations of business within the context of the global economy.  Students will learn about international finance and business with strong links to history, geography, and cultures around the world.  Some of the topics included in this course are government and global business, legal agreements around the world, importing, exporting, and trade relations, organized labor, and international career planning.

  • The OfficeThis course challenges students to assume the responsibilities of an administrative assistant in a medium-sized technology company.  Students will create memos, letters, and other correspondence; prepare pie charts, graphs, form letters; develop telephone skills, schedule appointments, and make travel arrangements; and plan and organize schedules.

  • Book CoverStudents learn the foundations and functions needed to successfully market good, services, and ideas to consumers.  Professional development, customer service, and technology are presented as keys to students’ success.  Students will study selling, human relations, communications, distribution, promotion, product planning, and pricing, and as a result may see marketing as a career choice.

  • Learn to use the alphabetic keyboard and 10-key pad!  Using the computer keyboard efficiently is a must-have job skill and this class will teach you just that.  In addition to learning to key correctly and quickly, students will learn to prepare reports, personal business letters, business letters, tables, and resumes. This is a great class for transfer students who want more computer training.  MAY BE A MUST HAVE FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS!!

    Check out the new suite of web, graphic, and rich media-authoring applications. Web Page & Graphics is a project-based course in which you learn how to use the tools in CS4 while you build an understanding of the overall design and process that is needed for producing web, graphic, and rich media communication.

  • This course is a continuation of Spanish III. Students will refine language skills acquired in spanish III through reading, conversation, writing, listening, vocabulary development, and grammar review of increasing difficulty. Communicative practice with peers and teacher will develop confidence, control, and fluency in written essays and oral expression of ideas about Hispanic culture and society.
  • This course introduces the fundamental elements of the Spanish language within a cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the development of basic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Students will begin exploring issues related to the Hispanic world. Topics include historical and current events, geography, music, art and customs. Upon completion, students should be able to identify and discus selected topics and cultural differences related to the Hispanic world.
  • This course is a continuation of Spanish I focusing on the fundamental elements of the Spanish language within a Cultural context. Emphasis is placed on the progressive development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Upon completion, students should be able to understand and respond with increased proficiency to spoken and written Spanish and demonstrate further cultural awareness. This course is conducted half in English, half in Spanish.
  • This course is a continuation of Spanish II, providing an opportunity to enhance the review and expansion of the essential skills of the Spanish language. The study of Hispanic culture will continue with various projects. Upon completion, students should be able to communicate effectively, accurately, and creatively about the present, past and future. This course is conducted mainly in Spanish, with English being used in a few instances.

  • This course introduces the fundamental elements of the Spanish language within a cultural context. Students will become familiar with greetings, colors, clothing, school objects,etc. Students will begin to explore issues related to the Hispanic world. Topics include historical and current events, geography, music, art and customs. Upon completion, student should be able to identify and discuss selected topics and cultural differences related to the Hispanic world.

  • Course Description: If you are interested in small animals this is the class for you.  You will be one of the few students in the school that has the privilege of working hands on with animals everyday in school!  In this course you will learn the in’s and out’s of most small animals including rabbits, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, mice, rats, gerbils, and even ferrets.  Since the classroom has already become a domesticated version of a zoo we plan a trip to the Minnesota Zoo to liven things up a bit as well.  This is a course that is very fast paced, hands-on based that gives every student a chance to excel in small animals.  If you like your critters this is the place to be.
